Nostalgia Electrics PCM-805 Review
For the longest time, I have been trying to
find a cotton candy maker that will be able to make cotton candy that has the flavors of my favorite candies
in the market. For days I have searched all over the internet until I stumbled upon the Nostalgia Electrics
PCM-805 Hard & Sugar- Free Candy Cotton Candy Maker. My kids really love eating cotton candies. Even I
love those sweet treats myself. I actually bought this cotton candy maker for the birthday party of my
daughter. We decided to simply buy one since renting a cotton candy stall is quite expensive. Buying one also
means I can use it on the birthday parties of my 2 other kids and even on any parties that my family will be
hosting.
One of the features that this candy maker has that really prompted me to buy it is its ability to make cotton
candy out of different hard candies in the market today. Yes, instead of simply using cotton candy floss, or
flavored sugar, you can actually use your favorite hard candy. I ordered mine online and I got the package 4 days
later. I made sure that I ordered this product along with a very good and affordable blender weeks before the actual party so that If there will be any
delays, I will still be able to use it for the event and ordering ahead will give me time to test the cotton candy
maker and practice operating it. As soon as I got the box, I was instantly attracted to the packaging. The box is
really cute and anyone who would see it in the store would also want to take a look at it.
Design
The design is very child friendly and very attractive too. The dominant color is white with pretty pink accents
on the base and on the top part. The bowl is also translucent. It came with a user manual and there were also two
pieces of cotton candy cones made out of plastic. I read the Nostalgia Electrics PCM-805 Manual and I found out
that operating this cotton candy maker is very easy.
All I need to do is to get a couple of pieces of hard candies, plug the machine, switch it on, place the candies
in the receptacle in the center and the machine will start spinning to make cotton candy out of them. I wanted to
try it out immediately so attached the top port of the machine together and plugged it in. I only had lifesavers
with me so I threw in a couple of pieces inside the receptacle. In less than a minute, webs of cotton candy started
to form at the translucent bowl.
The bowl and flavors
I figured that the translucent bowl actually made it easier for me to see the webs of cotton candy. It was quite
a challenge at first to form those webs into a cotton candy ball. My first batch tasted very good and the flavor of
the candy was really what it tasted like. I found some videos online on how to successfully shape a ball and I
practiced over the next few batches. The Nostalgia Electrics Hard & Sugar-Free Candy Cotton candy Maker is
actually a very good product.
Even if it was only my 4th batch for that day, I was already able to combine different flavors out of the
lifesavers that I had. As soon as the kids arrived from school, I made them some cotton candies and they all loved
the fluffiness and the flavors. I also found out that clean up is really easy since the parts can be broken down.
The candy receptacle can be soaked in hot water and the sugar and candy pieces also easily melts away. The
Nostalgia Electrics PCM-805 is definitely a must have in your kitchens.
